Twenty three years ago Lee Nyhus felt what can only be called wanderlust, a need to leave her home in the United States and explore the world.  For two years Lee’s travels took her to the mysterious and exotic destinations of  Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.  She finally ended up in Japan where she lived for six years where she taught English and studying the art of massage.  After a time Lee once again felt the need to see new places and meet new people.  She eventually found herself in Placencia, Belize where she fell in love with the peaceful Caribbean Sea and the lush greenery of the little village. Lee found her own piece of paradise, hidden away in the heart of the village, full of beautiful green foliage, sweetly singing birds and an atmosphere of tranquility – a true Secret Garden.  The Secret Garden Day Spa was created because of Lee’s passion for her newly chosen profession and her love of her new home.   The peaceful setting lends for a truly soothing and calming spa experience.  The first spa established within Placencia Village, the Secret Garden offers a wide range of treatments.

Jarka Tesnerova was born in Czech Republic, where she worked as a registered nurse in Emergency& Intensive care since 1995. In 2006 she moved to Belize. Yoga has been part of her life almost 7 years. She is an Ashtanga Yoga and Acro Yoga practitioner and received her Children’s Yoga Teacher Certification by Asana Alphabet(RCYS) at Om Shanti Belize in 2016. In April 2017 she completed her 200-hours Teacher Training at Om Shanti Belize. In addition to having attended Ashtanga Yoga Therapy Teacher Trainning (20 hours) with Manju P. Jois. Restorative Yoga Teacher trainning with Cindy Lee, Vedic Thai Yoga bodywork  with Suvedi Kramer and 30 hours Yin Yoga Teacher trainning with Sofia Araujo in 2018. Besides teaching yoga Jarka is a REIKI practitioner , she just finished her reiki certification in February 2019. She is an Ambassador of Rhythm of Chance( ROC) in Placencia.
